NewsThe LIFE Methamorphosis Consortium meets with the EASME Project Advisor and the NEEMO responsible for monitoring in order to show the project status
On May 7 and 8, the Consortium of the LIFE Methamorphosis project led by Aqualia and formed by FCC Environment, Naturgy, SEAT, ICAEN and AMB, met in Barcelona to assess the status and progress of the project.
The meeting was attended by the EASME (Executive Agency for SMEs) Project Advisor assigned by the European Commission and, the responsible for monitor the project implementation, who is part of the NEEMO team. NEEMO is an an entity that aims to help the consortiums of projects financed by the LIFE Programme to make the best use of resources and, at the same time, to provide local experience and knowledge.
During the first day, the partners exposed the progress of the technical actions of the project and reviewed the financial and administrative aspects. In the afternoon, the team traveled to Vilasana (Lleida) to show the demonstration prototype METHAGRO, which treats with agro-industrial waste for the production of quality biomethane. The generated biomethane is used as fuel in light vehicles and for injection into the network.
Finally, in the second day, those responsible for EASME and NEEMO visited the UMBRELLA prototype located in the Ecoparc of Montcada i Reixac (Barcelona). This demonstration plant treats more efficiently the wastewater from the treatment of the organic fraction and produces a high quality biomethane suitable for heavy and light vehicles.
