#EUGreenWeek: LIFE METHAMOPRHOSIS takes the initiative!

The LIFE Methamorphosis project is co-financed by the European Commission within the LIFE Programme, which aims to promote innovative technologies in the field of environment and climate change to promote changes in the development and application of policies through the provision of solutions and improvements. This project is coordinated by Aqualia and has partners such as Construcciones y Contratas Fomento (FCC), Naturgy, SEAT, the Area Metropolitana de Barcelona (AMB) and the Institut Català de l'Energia (ICAEN).
It is a technology demonstration project that includes the same goals as the LIFE Programme, in particular, climate change mitigation through the production of biomethane from waste treatment plants. This fuel has a lower greenhouse gas emissions rate compared to other fuels. It involves a revolution in urban mobility and the development of the cities of the future. Furthermore, this initiative is in line with the guidelines about circular economy promoted by the European Union.
This year, LIFE METHAMORPHOSIS will participate in the EU Green Week with a conference and a guided tour to both UMBRELLA and METHAGRO prototypes of the project. This event will be on 15th and 16th of May of 2019. On the first day, the UMBRELLA prototype located in the Ecoparc of Montcada i Reixac (Barcelona) will be visited. The next day, we will visit the METHAGRO prototype located in the Farm Porgaporcs in Vilasana (Lleida). Both visits will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will last approximately 2 hours.
